SprintRay Midas: Same-Day 3D-Printed crowns, veneers and restorations

The SprintRay Midas is a chairside 3D printer built for restorations. It prints crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, implant crowns and bridges in minutes, SprintRay states up to three crowns in about 10 minutes, so patients can leave with their final restoration in a single visit. Paired with SprintRay’s AI design and NanoCure, SprintRay says a crown can be designed, printed and post-cured in under 30 minutes.

Midas uses SprintRay’s patented Digital Press Stereolithography (DPS), which presses highly filled, high-viscosity resins into shape instead of drawing them from an open tank. Resin comes in sealed, barcoded capsules, so there is no tank to fill, no build platform to clean and no bottles to manage; maintenance is a wipe of the print glass. That lets Midas print dense restorative materials such as Midas Restore, a resin with more than 75% glass ceramic and zirconia filler.
