IRON CORE i5 Milling Machine

One milling machine for every material, from zirconia to titanium

The UP3D IRON CORE i5 PRO is a 5-axis wet and dry dental milling machine built for dental labs and in-house labs that bring metal milling in-house. A one-piece cast-iron frame, a 2.5 kW water-cooled spindle and an 18-tool automatic tool changer keep titanium bars, custom abutments and implant frameworks stable over long runs – while zirconia, PMMA, PEEK, wax, composite and glass ceramics stay on the same machine.

UP3D IRON CORE i5

More productivity in the lab

Wet and dry in one machine

– Mills zirconia, PMMA, wax and composite dry, and glass ceramics and metals wet, without a second mill

– One footprint, one workflow and one learning curve instead of separate chairside and lab machines

– Ideal for practices that want same-day crowns and large zirconia cases from the same equipment

Metal milling for implant work

– Mills titanium, implant frameworks and custom abutments in-house

– Brings the most outsourced part of full-arch cases under your control, from design to delivery

– Ideal for implant practices and labs running All-on-X protocols

Software included, no annual fees

– Comes with UP3D’s own CAM software at no extra cost, and no yearly license to renew

– Works with open CAD software, for flexibility in your digital workflow

– Connects to MillMind, so you can monitor status, receive alerts and track tool life from your smartphone or tablet

Key questions about UP3D IRON CORE i5 PRO

FAQ IRON CORE i5 Milling Machine

220 VAC 50/60 Hz, 5.5 kW · external compressor delivering 0.6–0.9 MPa at 80 L/min · footprint 660 × 680 mm, height 1750 mm, 480 kg · operating range 10–35 °C, humidity below 80 %. Coolant tank and chiller are built in. Onboarding: a 3–4 hour session covers basic operation and routine maintenance.

It is a hybrid mill that switches between dry milling, for zirconia, PMMA and wax, and wet milling with coolant, for glass ceramics and metals. One machine covers materials that would otherwise need two mills.

Zirconia, PMMA, PEEK, wax, composite resins and glass ceramics, plus titanium discs and titanium pre-milled blanks for custom abutments and implant bars. Dry and wet milling run on the same machine.

Yes. The i5 PRO mills titanium and implant frameworks, so the metal part of All-on-X cases no longer has to be outsourced.

Yes. The IRON CORE i5 PRO ships with UP3D’s UPCAM and with Millbox. UPCAM uses a perpetual global license with no annual fee. The machine is open and also accepts third-party CAM and any CAD exporting standard STL files.

Dental labs and in-house labs that want to stop outsourcing metal work — implant bars, custom titanium abutments and screw-retained restorations — and run them on the same 5-axis platform as their zirconia and glass-ceramic cases.
